What to expect
The initial contact can seem difficult when you take the first step, so I have listed what to expect after submitting the contact form, to make the process easier and more comfortable in a safe environment.
1
Initial Contact
You can contact me by filling out the contact form here. Alternatively, you can call me by phone or email to arrange a short 15-minute phone or online appointment.
2
Brief Consultation
During this call, I will listen to your initial concerns and answer any questions you may have about the treatment. This informal conversation helps you understand how I work and whether my approach is right for you or your child.
3
First Session
This first session provides a safe and supportive space where we get to know each other and begin to explore your or your child’s experiences and needs. We discuss the goals of therapy and consider whether this space and approach are right for you. This session helps build trust and lays the foundation for further work, should you decide to continue. Sometimes, this conversation can provide clarity or guidance, and you may decide that no further sessions are needed.
4
Assessment
If we proceed with therapy, I conduct a more in-depth assessment to understand the emotional, psychological, and developmental needs involved. This may be done over several sessions and may include gathering information from parents or caregivers when appropriate. The assessment helps me tailor the treatment approach to best support growth, healing, and change.
