Home
I am a qualified psychologist and psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of children and adolescents, with a particular emphasis on the psychodynamic approach. I have an academic background in the United States and the United Kingdom, with an academic tenured position at King's College London (KCL), and research activity in child and adolescent mental health.
My therapeutic approach is based primarily on psychodynamic therapy, aiming to understand the deeper dynamics of emotional processes and relationships manifesting in behavioural symptoms. At the same time, my approach remains individualized and holistic, in order to respond to the needs of each child, adolescent and family. I emphasize addressing communication difficulties, enhancing mental well-being, cultivating self-confidence and improving social relationships.
I work with a wide range of issues related to childhood and adolescence, such as:
-
anxiety, phobias and anxiety disorders
-
depressed mood, bullying and low self-esteem
-
difficulties in communication and social relationships
-
family conflicts and adaptation to changes (e.g. divorce)
-
grief and loss management
-
eating difficulties and disorders, body image issues
-
difficulties at school, learning pressures and managing performance anxiety
-
issues of identity, self-image and adolescent development
-
conduct problems/anger difficulties, delinquency
-
neurodevelopmental difficulties (e.g., autism, ADHD)
-
